KSA, UNESCO sign cooperation deal on preserving heritage

PARIS: The Saudi Culture Ministry and UNESCO, the international cultural and scientific agency, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Paris on Friday aimed at promoting cooperation in culture and preserving heritage.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Saudi Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan and UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay.

The cooperation will focus on preserving and repairing heritage sites, as well as on developing the arts, festivals and literature including libraries, arts performance, and initiatives and conferences related to children’s culture and arts.

This collaboration will provide educational and training opportunities for Saudis in the field of culture, as part of the ministry’s steps toward developing Saudi talents.
