A Jeddah-based candle-making business is hoping its scented products will become the burning desire of Saudi households.
Louj candles are specially blended and hand-poured, and although the venture was only established at the beginning of this year the brand is already proving popular among its homegrown market customers.
Visitors to Louj’s Instagram page can watch the step-by-step process of the candles being made, from the positioning of wicks to the waxes being put into jars.
A range of scents are available including Turkish coffee, honey, nigella seeds, vanilla and cardamom.
Not to be outdone by US brand Yankee Candle’s “Christmas morning” scented product, Louj has its own “Madinah Mint.”
My favorite was the floral Ward Taifi scent, along with honey and nigella seeds.
