RIYADH: Saudi Arabia appointed Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud as the country’s new foreign minister on Wednesday in an announcement through royal decrees.
Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, 45, served in several positions in both private and public sectors since 2001 until his recent appointment.
From 2001 to 2013, Prince Faisal was representative of Boeing Industrial Technology Group, as well as Vice Chairman of the board of directors of Alsalam Aerospace Company before his promotion to chairman.

In 2017, he was also a member for the board of directors for the Saudi Military Industries Corporation and Chairman of the Executive Committee.
The minister was appointed advisor to Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman in January 2017, where he served in the role for four months.
In that same year, Prince Faisal was appointed advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and senior advisor at the Saudi embassy in Washington until 2019.
Following his appointment at the Saudi embassy in the US, the prince was made Saudi ambassador to Germany.
