NEW YORK: Ahmed Al-Faryan, counselor of the permanent representative of Saudi Arabia to the UN, has confirmed Saudi Arabia’s full support for the reform of the UN development system and the Kingdom’s commitment to the full implementation of the related General Assembly Resolution No. 72/279, noting its aspiration to pursue a transparent and inclusive process of consultation with UN member states.
Al-Faryan was speaking at a meeting of the Group of 77 and China at the UN headquarters in New York on Thursday.
Al-Faryan said: “The Kingdom appreciates the efforts exerted to achieve gender parity in the resident coordinator system, as it welcomed the nomination of the first female resident coordinator in January this year.
